Product Review: Kiehl's Ultra Light Daily UB Defense

Since turning 29, I've been more conscious of my skin and aging in general. I'm aware that my freakouts may be a tad premature, but I'm deathly afraid of waking up one day with wrinkly, 'no turning back' skin. Plus, with the fine lines that are increasingly popping up around my eyes, it was high time I looked at MORE preventative measures. Gone were the days of soaking up the sun with baby oil lathered on my skin. And no more was I to rely on the measly "SPF 15's and 20's" in my foundations and tinted moisturizers. Nope, drastic measures needed to be taken... (I know, dramatic much??)

The one issue for me was the tendency of my pores to feel UBER clogged and oily when it came to any SPFs I had used in the past. So mission: find-the-highest-possible-non-oily-spf was underway. After tons of research, it seemed like I had 2 contenders. The first was the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch sunscreens (which range from SPF 30 to a whopping SPF 100) and the second was the Kiehl's Ultra Light Daily UV Defense SPF 50. Needless to say that the latter was the winning option, really out of convenience. I am currently in the UK where Neutrogena is not accessible. But after I'm done with this baby, I'm going to try giving the Neutrogena versions a shot.

More about the Kiehls option. I usually slap this on "after my morning skincare routine" as prescribed, and before my makeup. It does have a light consistency as the name suggests and is oil free. So far, I really like it and never once felt like this was suffocating my skin - a feeling I tend to experience with other SPF's. So, if you're looking for a high SPF with a light texture and consistency, that really almost disappears into the skin after working it in, then this is for you.
