Makeup Of The Day #MOTD

Even though the Fall is technically here, I can't seem to wean off coral and peach toned blush and lip products. It's no secret that its one of the most universally complimenting shades, really flattering most complexions by giving a healthy, somewhat sun kissed glow. It's definitely my go-to shade when I'm looking a little lacklustre. So, I've decided to wring it out for the next few little while. Admittedly, I AM currently in the UAE in the sweltering heat, so seasonal shifts really shouldn't matter. But we all know that when fall strikes, regardless of where you're living, it only makes sense to whip out the deep reds, plums and mauves... Just makes sense!

In the above Im wearing Laura Mercier's Mineral Powder SPF15 in Tender Rose as a base. I used the Real Techniques Buffing Brush to really work it into the skin (wearing a good moisturizer underneath this will help - I used the Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentre, see my review here).

For concealer, I used a nice high coverage one for today - Collection's Lasting Perfection Concealer in Light 2 is a great option for this - note, you can only find this in the UK.

For bronzer, Im sure it's no surprise that I used Jouer's Mattifying Bronzer Powder in Sunswept (review here). And for blush, I just LOVE Nars' Pierre Hardy limited edition powder blush in Rotonde. Its the nicest rich peachy colour with the slightest bit of shimmer that honestly doesn't even seem to show but still looks pretty frikkin' amazing.

For eyes, I always use my Mac Paint Pot in Painterly and the Sephora Colourful Matte eyeshadow in Strawberry Macaroon. I just feel like brightening your eye lids will not only make you look bright-eyed, but will really make your dark eyeliner pop - which was the Sephora Long-Lasting liquid eyeliner in Dark Brown 06 in my case. But before this, I always make sure to slap on some Benefit Eye Bright for added pop. Next comes mascara, and one of my all time favourites has to be the Benefit They're Real mascara.

Et Voila!

Sidenote: I know that it seems like I've listed alot and my makeup look is minimal. But that just seems to be my every day go-to look. A kind of you-but-better approach to makeup. Except for special occasions. Or bold lip days... Ah, I miss those. Speaking of which. Stay tuned for my next post where I walk you through my  top bold lip picks!
